HELPING LOCAL PEOPLE IN CRISIS
We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we support the Walton and Hersham Foodbank who provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are in crisis. The foodbank is part of a nationwide network, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
Our staff kindly contribute towards a collection of the most needed items on the food bank shopping list and our donations are most gratefully received.
NATIONAL VEGATARIAN WEEK – VEGGIE123
We’re buzzing about National Vegetarian Week which takes place in May each year. We encourage Impress employees to get on board and ‘go veggie’ for 7 days. This challenge inspires us to move our food focus away from a reliance on meat, fish and dairy in our diet because vegetarian food has a much lower impact on our environment.
We should be eating 30% less meat by 2030, which can be achieved by having just two meat-free days a week, and, it’s a chance to get creative in the kitchen!

RAINFOREST AND WILDLIFE CONSERVATION
The World Land Trust (WLT) is an international conservation charity, which protects the world’s most biologically important and threatened habitats acre by acre. The WLT are our partner for Carbon Balancing our unavoidable carbon footprint.
MORE TREES FOR UK WOODLAND
The Woodland Trust create new UK woodland and harness nature’s simple and powerful way of removing carbon dioxide from the environment.
- Employee fundraising with the Woodland Trust has enabled the creation of 250m2 of new native woodland at Heartwood Forest, which will absorb at least 10 tonnes of carbon dioxide over the trees life cycle.
- To help plant more trees, for several years we collected boxes of unwanted cards to donate towards the hugely successful M&S National Christmas Card Recycling Scheme. M&S have recycled more than 51 million Christmas cards and planted over 51,000 trees – a really worthwhile project, which Impress are proud to be a part of.
- At Impress we encourage everyone to enjoy their local forest, woods or park. Find your local green space or find a wood near you.
CELEBRATE RESPONSIBLE FOREST MANAGEMENT
We celebrate and promote FSC Friday at the end of September. Check out our FSC Logo Challenge and Tree Gallery with our favourite photos of staff, clients, family and friends all enjoying their local woodland!
RE-USING WASTE PAPER TO HELP SCHOOL PROJECTS
As a commercial printer, the nature of the manufacturing process means waste paper is created. Whilst we keep this to a minimum, we are determined to find another use for the paper before it’s recycled.
We are delighted to re-use this paper to boost local school resources, turning it into useful products such as note pads and paper packs for art projects.
SAVED OVER 10,000 CRISP & SNACK PACKETS FROM LANDFILL
Between 2019 and 2024 Impress proudly participated in the KP Snacks® recycling scheme with TerraCycle®, establishing a collection point for these hard-to-recycle materials. Our efforts successfully diverted many packets from landfill, transforming them into new products like outdoor furniture. Although the KP Snacks Brand is closing the scheme, our enthusiasm to help reduce other waste continues.
UNFORTUNATLEY WE ARE UNABLE TO ACCEPT ANY MORE CRISP & SNACK PACKETS FOR RECYCLING FROM 18TH NOVEMBER 2024.
LOCAL ALLOTMENT & SCHOOL PROJECTS
We donate our wooden pallets for local allotment and school projects. If you are interested in collecting some of our wooden pallets for reuse please let us know.
YOUTH FOOTBALL SPONSORSHIP
We have some keen employees who get involved and run little league football teams. Impress support and sponsor the kit to ensure they look their best on the pitch.
A CRAZY AND FUN CYCLE…
In aid of the Movember Foundation, to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, the Impress team cycled continuously on two static bikes in our reception! We covered a total of 1104 km (686 miles), the equivalent distance from the Impress office in Hersham, Surrey to John O’Groats in Scotland! Read more…
