Impress are an expanding and award winning print company with a superb opportunity for a Large Format Operator. Reporting to the Digital Manager you will be responsible for the output, effectiveness, and performance of large format presses and finishing.

The job involves

• setting up and running HP R1000 large format press
• setting up and running our Summa cutters
• producing accurate and timely print
• organising stock
• maintaining presses

You will need

• experience of sheet fed digital or large format printing
• to be someone who can build trust, value others, communicate effectively, focus on delivery to customers, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively and demonstrate high integrity
• a positive ‘can do’ approach
• the ability to adapt to a fast pace and ever-changing environment
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow work-flow instructions to maintain consistency.

Our work is varied including the production of brochures, booklets, leaflets, posters, stationery, to printing special effects, banners, pull up stands, wall and window graphics and display boards.

A methodical approach, along with excellent organisational skills are a must. The successful candidate will be versatile, practical, motivated, be a team player and have a good sense of humour! At least two years’ experience in large format printing is essential.

The ideal candidate will work with our team of experienced finishers who share our desire and passion to be the best in the business. The successful candidate will be versatile, practical, have excellent attention to detail, able to work well under pressure and have a good sense of humour!

Your work will include:

• running a variety of print finishing machines such as guillotine, stitch-liner, creaser, folder and laminator.
• pack completed work ready for delivery

You will need:

• As well as demonstrating the ability to work well on your own, you will be willing to contribute to the team effort to get the job done and will be flexible.
• a positive ‘can do’ approach
• the ability to adapt to a fast pace and ever-changing environment
• Ideally proficient in finishing equipment, although cross training can be given (2 Years experience preferable)
• digital & large format experience beneficial
• a good level of physical fitness

The hours are:

7am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week or shifts. Or shifts 36.75 hours per week over 3 x 12.25hr shifts.

There is scope for progression.

We are on the look out for apprentice finishers who share our desire and passion to be the best in the business.

The successful candidates will be versatile, practical, have excellent attention to detail, able to work well under pressure and have a good sense of humour!

You will become a valued member of our team and will learn a trade which includes operating various items of print finishing equipment such as:

• guillotines
• folders
• stitching line
• perfect and PUR binder
• cylinder
• laminators

You will work with the British Industries Printing Federation (BPIF) to gain your qualification, which involves on the job learning, along with training sessions for each module in Central London on one day every 1-2 months.

As well as demonstrating the ability to work well on your own, you will be willing to contribute to the team effort to get the job done and will be flexible.

• Gain sound awareness of all aspects of the print processes including studio, digital print, lithographic print, finishing and mailing.

• Learn to operate various items of equipment under supervision.
